What does your cat look like ?

For those of you who have removed the CAT can you tell me what it looks like ?Does it look something like this [image]http://www.powertrainprojects.co.uk/images/Sports%20Cat%20Converter%20(2)~1.jpg[/image] but with a heat shield around the middle or is a standard Elise CAT.Thanks

Phil I can mail you a photo if you want ( i just took it off …) - it doesnt look like the motorsport cat at all - its more like an oblong shape - maybe is std - the gaskets are from a Rover 820 I understood. - Is you address still as in your profile.Andrew

Andrew, if you could please, guess you have the standard Elise cat with studs on the flanges.e-mail address is correct.Cheers

Mike - you beat me to it!!!Phil - my car has standard CAT (same as Elise) - compared it with Elise Cat I have on shelf - they are same part no.Motorsport Cat (as in your pic) is extra cost option

P.S. would be happy to swap your useless motorsport Cat for a standard one if you feel all left outCan’t be much fun being the only person with a strange cat compared to all us normal people :0)

Mike… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/tongue.gif[/image]Sorry Mark, no swaps [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]To tell you the truth, when i got my car that was the CAT on it, i didn’t order it and no mention was made by the dealership so i thought it was the standard cat that came on the Exige !!When my wifes car arrived, i could have sworn she had the same type of CAT which re affirmed my thoughts that it was standard !!What prompted this was the posting to LRV in the ECU Recall thread to return the CAT from my wifes upgrade, well they sent a standard Elise one, so i emailed them saying no way was that the right CAT they emailed back and said the part numbers were the same. I checked with Lotus this afternoon and ALL the 601 Exiges left the factory with the standard CAT and the dealers fitted the motorsport versions.Anyone know how long the motorsport version should last before its burnt out ?? I could then turn it into a silenced replacement pipe [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
