What did an S1 cost new?

Going though the massive file of papers for my Exige I have the original invoice from Ribble Motors. Makes an interesting read.

Exige 25527
Alarm 251
Alcantara 251
Aircon 1256 - waste of money there
Sports seats 846
Radio kit 127
Bar and fitting 340
Upgrade (assume 190) 682
Stainless exhaust 637 blimey, that was expensive.
Carbon box 127
Rfl 155
Reg fee 25
Total 30224 35482 inc vat

It also had a few more extras like the snap off wheel, and mats that do not appear on the invoice. The purchaser got a really good price for their Elise 160 so a deal was had. Looks like the value 15 years is is approaching the new price.

I reckon you’re cars value is already more Keith. Absolute Beaty mate.

Only now JUST about getting back to that if you are lucky. With no extra charge for corrosion !

Can’t find too much corrosion but I have not taken it to bits and used OCD like you and Jonny. Floors are OK and it missed the Lotus recall (no rubber mats now). I have just given it its normal winter coat of clear waxoyl on the wishbones and loads of ACF50 all over the fixings, some of them are still shiny silver but it has only done 25k miles. Due to work it had not moved since August but it still managed to start second cranking.

Back on subject, I thought the 190 upgrade was a bargain compared with the exhaust (which had gone when I got it). I assume the bar included the harnesses. The aircon was a great cheek from Lotus as I do not think it ever worked.

I’ve got my invoice here form when Mr C Chamberlain bought it from Nick Whale Sports Cars, I then bought it off him and put it in the garage for ten years.

The air con did work to a lesser extent i.e. demisting. It was never up to the job of cooling the cabin however.

Got my air-con working but took me 8yrs
