what clutch

Gonna take my exige down to Backontrack and get the idle issue sorted in the map Essex did, seems like a reasonable time to put a new gearbox in (quaife dif, SSC 3rd & 4th - thanks jfk) so while it’s out i’ll replace the clutch and if it’s worth doing then I’ll replace the flywheel as well.

Any suggestions on the clutch? The car’s a 285bhp MY10 S2 and gets tracked a fair bit, saying that i like the feel of the OEM clutch and don’t fancy anything heavy under foot so I’m basically looking for the best OEM-like and durable clutch to put in there.

and the flywheel, worth putting something else in there?

Thanks guys

edit : saying that I still managed to break two dampening springs on the driven plate.
I’ve got a standard clutch in now but have turned the power down to 270.

I used a Helix clutch before that and the friction material disintegrated.

I been hugely impressed with my Fidanza flywheel and clutch. I feel safe in the fact both are made by the same manufacturer not that it’s of any major issue, I just like the unity. Not too different from OEM from memory unlike the Helix paddle clutch and Fidanza flywheel I used to run…that was aggressive but fun too, so long as you haven’t got idle issues.

I now stock Competition Clutches and Flywheels.
Stage 2 road (organic plate)
Stage 4 Track (Sprung 6 paddle cerametalic)
Piccy of flywheel from my winter refresh thread

I have the Exedy stage 1. It’s a bit jumpy when you’re parking or shuffling through town but very precise (and seems, though I can’t really explain why, somehow ‘fast’) when pressing on. This and the poly flex mounts are the two upgrades that have most noticeably nudged the car along the scale from road to race car.

Fidanza - awesome!
