Well, would you believe it!

Of course it bloody well was.

A rat was smelt when JM got from Kent to Norwich in about an hour, still - it’s only fun and not real life

Of course, it’s meant to be fun, but I just can’t understand why the vast majority of folk (incl a large number of supposed petrolheads) think it can be taken seriously, including the car reviews/Stig times etc - utter rubbish imho.

Also for me, the format is now well past it’s sell by date…by about 4 years. For the first time in 3 years, I’ve actually watched this series so far - I did enjoy seeing the Balboni Gallardo, but wished I hadn’t suffered the verbal drivel.

As usual, I know I’m in the minority on this, but c’est la vie!

Personally I tire very quickly at seeing reams of footage featuring tyresmoke and screeching tyres, I normally make a cuppa when those bits come on.

I’m with you Pesky… the tomfoolery used to be a nice aside to yarning about cars… now it’s a show about three blokes being idiots with the odd car-related fact thrown in… amongst a giant shovelful of car-related non-facts.

This stuff makes me despair…I really can’t begin to believe the majority of the country could honestly believe it was real and read this as a credible.

If they do I am leaving!

most people that watch tv or watch the news are gulable so sorry to see you go damon, just go somewhere hotter and dry than this crappy rainy country.

i like watching top gear cos it is stupied shouldnt take another to heart. anyone remember when clarkson “tried” getting in the exige, now that was funny

+1

During the past 10 years, many of us have seen much funnier instances of peeps* getting into/out of Exiges, than the Cotswold Buffoon.

*The most remarkable/memorable/amusing individual being Graham Whitehead, who used to co-drive with Russ in Mid Engined Endurance Races. A fantastic driver, but a 5’8", 19 stone bloke who couldn’t even fit into the carbon fibre MOG drivers seat. We always had him drive the first stint, cos it was easier to tighten the harnesses for Russ, rather than slacken them for the Big Man. However, his exits from the car at changeover time were truly epic!

My gf who admits to knowing naff all about cars and has little interest in them generally has really grown to love TG over the past couple of series. I think that says it all really.

Did I hear Clarkson mention they’re getting lots of complaints?

I like TG, I can relate to people doing stupid stuff.

Yeah yanking Graham out of Russ’s car was a serious job!!

I like it but it can be a little cheesy, the scripted stuff in the studio anyway. I also like what they’ve done with the audience, especially the front row

Like this you mean…

Well done for digging those pics out, Mike.

That was at Silverstone, & the first race win for Russ too :sunglasses:

Happy days!

God we worked our nuts off that weekend! I think we did two wheel bearings and a pair of drive shafts and an oil leak or something I seam to remember.

Russ also stole the rear hubs and brakes off my car half way through the day.

Awesome day, one of my best race weekends ever and my gearbox broke in qually (dodgy early quaife sequential fitted to my K series)

Is that the back of Malcolm Edeson in the the second pic?

I thought too, that at first, Damon. However, I don’t think Malcolm raced in that series (but I may be mistaken).

More pics, by Benja & Jason, from the day, are here tsuphoto.com - tsuphoto Resources and Information.

Actually, the Endurance Races were not just for the Mid Engined Sportscar Series(mainly Exige/Elise/Noble/Atom/Ultima), which ran under the banner of AMOC, but for other classes too (eg Astons/Sunbeam Tigers).

Oh man that was an epic, epic day

Actually Rob, that was at Donington… Not that it matters too much.

Cheers Mike

Suppose it would matter…marginally…going the wrong way around the track!

Still, great times though
