I was on the pitwall too when JFK ventured out when the circuit opened. Bit of supercharger whine on approach then lots of exhaust noise,…kinda weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeePNAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Your’s, Ade and Evo’s all have a similar sound, and they’re all properly loud.
I like the close ratio box, there is so much more torque now, I’m always in a good place. But if you mean the short shifting I run out of fouth gear just before making the turn into Craners and that’s not good. However after the Old Hairpin I found there was no need to wring it out as I’d used too, the torque in 5th pulls like a train so was more convenient/less rushed than shifting later on that back straight. What I didn’t get a chance to try was taking Coppice in 4th, now that would have been Interesting. I know I can accelerate sooner out of quite a few corners, Redgate, Starkies and McLeans but I was keeping it smooth (not all the time lol). The day ended too early, there is loads more to come. Interestingly and I don’t put too much stock into timing but at home looking over the footage I was 2 seconds quicker, even with that final Caterham holding me up…
