Wax & Shine

Well my Exige is now 2 years old and the paintwork is in need of a little rejuvenation. Washing it yesterday (which is rare) I noticed that a lot of the marks just weren’t shifting. I’ve always used Zymol products on my cars, but was wondering if this is still the best solution, does anyone have any experience with alternatives?Of course, being orange, every single spot of dirt is noticable!Cheers all,Phil.

The gararge I used recommended using AutoGlym. Cannot remember the name but think it was the high resin finish. (has a silver square instead of the red) Put loads on and keep polishing it out, then keep applying more. Took about ten coats, but it brought the paint back nicely.Whether it is better than zymol, not sure as I am led to believe this is one of the best.Alternatively, I will swap my laser blue for your orange!! This will get round the problem nicely [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Autoglym is very, very good.Zymol is without a doubt the best, but its VERY expensive in comparison, I wouldn’t bother with it unless your a Show n Shine person. For the ultimate treatment:Wash in Autoglym "Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner"Cut it right back with "Paint Renovator"Optional second wash with shampooApply “Super Resin Polish” (lovingly [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]) which is the wax.Polish away, and be amazed. I did this process on a 9 year old 106XSi, and I was very impressed with the results. Really got the shine and colour back into the car. Took me about 4 hours to do, but its worth it at the end of the day. Highly recommended! http://www.autoglym.co.uk http://www.zymol.co.uk [This message has been edited by MattyB (edited 13 January 2003).]

Thanks guys, I actually think I have some Autoglym lurking in the garage somewhere, I’ll dig it out and do a comparison (when it’s a bit warmer!)ADL - Hmmm, it’s not that dirty [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image] Seriously though I actually really like Laser blue, but when I ordered my Exige none of the new colours had actually come out so I couldn’t see one in the flesh to be sure. Hence ending up with good old chrome orange. Not everyones taste but I love it!
