I got stuck today on the M6, obviously very hot outside temps and traffic going nowhere. temp gauge started heading north it made it to 99 and luckily i was right at the services so dived in and parked up.
My questions are, at what temperature do the fans kick in? also if they don’t at what temp is melt down. I am assuming it is normal to just keep rising when stuck in traffic as my car is running fine ( i hope ). I wish they never had a gauge, i would much prefer just a critical warning light.

Fans kick in at 97 and ok upto 105- 110 I think
My old Rover engined Elise used to kick in at 97, but the Exige obviously has self preservation high on its list of priorities as its fan kicks in at 91. Normal running temp around 83-84. My car is officially cool

Definitely ok in the low 100s mine will hit low 103ish on a hot trackday at Spa
