Sorry for starting a new thread, but I thought this important and I didn’t want people to miss it. As some of you know, the Whitter ancestral home is only a few miles from Cadwell, so I tend to know the score when it comes to police activity in the area. The Lincolnshire police are very strict, and Lincolnshire is one of the counties that signed-up to the major speeding offensive some time ago. Lincolnshire does have static speed cameras as well as mobile units, and I know people that have been “done” for doing 35 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. The local police are very aware when there are events on at Cadwell, and although not always they very often turn out in force to make sure that speeders are punished. As there are a limited number of ways to approach Cadwell (especially for non-locals) this is quite easy to achieve.Accordingly, please be careful, as it will only spoil the event if people get booked travelling to or from the circuit. As people who know me are aware, I don’t speed in limited areas anyway, but I tend to behave even in derestricted areas in Lincolnshire. I don’t want to bang on or be a killjoy; Im just hoping that this information might save a few tickets.See you all there. [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]
Thanks for the tip Tony.In addition to the Police warnings, Bookatrack regulars should be aware of this.A full UK driving license must be produced at sign-on. The DVLA will no longer take calls and fax license information to Octagon Venues (Silverstone, Brands, Oulton, Cadwell and Snetterton). Anybody without this will not be allowed to drive on the track. If you do not have their license for any reason you will need to request a computer print out from the DVLA. All requests must be sent to:Linda EvansData Subject EnquiriesD2DVLASwanseaSA6 7JLThis must be accompanied by a cheque or postal order for 3.50 made out to the DVLA Swansea. Please note this service normally takes 7 - 10 working days.Tickets issued by the police in place of a license that has been confiscated will also be accepted, as long as it is within two months of the issue date.
David, erm…I have a question regarding this. obviously, I have no English driving license. I suppose a Swiss one will do the trick…oh no…what have I done…I can see all these abuses coming on… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]later,Bruno
