Wanted: Set of TMR's for S1 Exige.

Anyone got a set they want to part with ?

Dave,

I damaged one at Brands and am looking for one front. I think they are the best looking wheel by a mile and probably the lightest, but the cost is huge. They aren’t that strong, and the cost to replace one is astronomical. Even if you get a reasonably priced 2nd hand set, if you damage one, the cost and time involved to replace it is huge. (A single rear wheel is 800!!!)

If you are going to use them for racing I would go with a cheaper and easy to replace alternative.

I am looking for a decent cheap alternative.

Randy uses the Team Dynamics wheels on his Europa. He told me that he buckled one and had to replace it at the grand cost of 80!!! However I don’t think they do S1 Exige fitmant.

Interesting ! - I’d assumed they were very strong!

Let me know if you find anything suitable matey and I’ll do some searching too… must be worth getting something custom made up - people are always struggling with S1 Exige wheels!

After seeing the state his car (and his wheels) at Brands it makes me feel at tad better that he is only out of pocket (for the wheels) by 320.

I believe Image wheels now do them for an s1 exige and they are split rim so that can be changed if it gets damaged, im pretty sure though that in the regs for lotrdc they have to be one piece wheels.
As Sean said the TMR’s are very fragile, i am a rear wheel short of a full set and so is Antony Clark, one of the other drivers in lot.
Looks like one of us will have to break a set up.

Can you still buy TMR’s? - and, if so, how much for a set?

Does anyone know if there are plans for any manufacturer to make any alternative S1 Exige wheels?

About 2800 per set and i think thats + vat

I’ve been in contact with Team Dynamics today and they don’t do anything in Exige S1 sizes.

They’re not willing to do a batch at this point in time either :frowning:

I had heard that rumour

lol

When I bought my set I enquired direct at TMR in Japan ( As Im there quite often at moment ) but there was only about 100 quid difference in price and a shed load more hassle. With the rate of the Yen as it is I can see that the same would apply now :frowning:

Why not Speedlines ? My favourite wheel  Still a question over cooling with those I guess ??

Yeah I think the Speedlines have the cooling issue and the porus issue. I might chat to Image, if they do a reasonable wheel, it might be worth approaching the LOTRDC, explain our case and see if we can get the rules ammended.

Image are only up the road from me as well.

Sounds good, let us know how you get on matey

I’d be quite interested in a spare set of these, as I’m always worried about the TMR’s and have got rid of my original wheels.

Doesn’t Steve G already run Image wheels on his Time Attack beast?

I might be up for a set, dependant, if you need to get a number for them to do a production run.
