If anyone is thinking of selling their NA S2 Exige, please PM me.
I’m looking for a car in great condition, ideally with a sports pack and fsh. Mileage is not a big issue if it has been maintained.
Only restriction, not silver, grey or pale blue!

No the S1 is a keeper and had a sprint round Donington last year. I have a set of Nitrons in the garage for it as I wore holes in my new liners in a few laps. It stuck to the track like glue, but the engine was a bit of a disappointment.
Unfortunately, my lovely Elise S1 was written off a few weeks ago and nearly killed me in the process. I’d just had the synchro fixed on the gearbox which meant the rear suspension had been off. About .75 mile from the garage I turned off a roadabout at about 35mph, the car went into a full tail out slide. I corrected it and got it straight for about 60ft but as I had had an armful of oversteer had two wheels on the road and two wheels on the muddy verge. The car then took a violent turn to the right, spat me across my lane and head on into another car. No sane person going in a straight line would turn into an oncoming car and I think I am sane!
The police agreed my speed estimate of 35mph but were not interest in inspecting the car as nobody was hurt (I can understand that). I don’t know if it was diesel on the road, something to do with the gearbox removal, or something else broke. It certainly felt very odd when going straight after the initial slide. I have been very shaken and in shock for the last few weeks, I really thought I was dead. I did some track (rally) training at the weekend and feel much better.
So I need a new reliable track car and can’t run to an Exige S. I have found a NA S2 and will test it soon. I’m a bit worried that the “two mode” power delivery may make it a track pain. If that proves to be true it will be an Elise 111s or …a Nissan 350z (I used one for my rally training and it was brilliant).
The S1 Exige will get its turn on the track as well, so you can’t buy it back!
Oh…and whilst at Rally School I discovered my 10 year old has a natural talent for driving (according to people who know). He had never driven a car before and set some good lap times! Quote “you just lock the wheels, turn the wheel like this (turn in), make the back slide, turn the wheel like that (opposite lock) and drive out”. Where did he learn this…X-Box!
Anyway, he got in invite to drive a 911 in the ice of Norway, hopefully I can tag along…it will be expensive.
Interesting read, glad you are well, sorry about your car and good luck to your son! Buy an NA Exige and never ever mention a 350z as a track toy again. Not only is an NA Exige awesome on track but it’ll be a load easier to repair when bits starting wearing thin due to age. And it’ll be a dame site more enjoyable then both…
You’re doing the right thing, lol think of your children
