Hi Chaps - while being 'DVA’d Dave noticed the filter mount had a tiny crack in it.

That is very interesting!!!
Mine did the same… was weeping just a little oil out onto the tray… Crack was on the manafactured seam that seems to be a weak spot!
NO way was I going to pay the � 297.00 plus vat for a new one… so took it off and one of my mates who is an expert welder of alli sorted that crack out in 5 mins!
Case of beer did the trick and all well now!
Money going towards the next track day!!! 
I may have one in the garage, I’ll try and remember to check tomorrow.

Common problem by the sounds of it!
You can weld the hairline crack over for next to nothing however… with it in situe… having said that it is only 4 bolts to remove!

Does anyone know if theres is any instruction on what can be removed after fitting an emerald?
Im talking about all the vac switches and magical items strapped to the diagonal roll bar stays etc…
Emerald has been on it for a couple of years but never bothered following up on the other stuff

PS I couldn’t work out why I was getting drips from that area. It has been doing my swede in for ages. Thought it was the oil cooler swaged union that was leaking. Also it is a right mess of a thing. Looks like a cobbled together after thought IMHO.
