There is no technical issue with the motorsport wing. It really kept the car planted on Spa after adjustments.
But the local police and Dutch DVLA variant are giving me trouble with it. Not sure how and if I can overcome that with the motorsport wing.
They basically say that it is overhanging the rear bodywork and there for dangerous for the weaker road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. On impact they have a higher possibility to get hurt by the wing and seriously injure themselves on the sharp rear of the blade. On the sides it is not sticking out, so that is good, but the rounded carbon plates are also considered dangerous.
They say even an original GT3 RS can get a ticket for it or revoke the license plate until rechecked at Dutch DVLA station.
Just in the middle of getting the car finished from suspension overhaul, s2 uprights, etc. This is the problem, overhanging the rear bodywork :
Very happy with the car. Lots of work done in the last years.
New 2.5 Duratec engine and CR gearbox with plated lsd will be placed soon and then I can just relax, sit back, … just kidding.
Thanks again I bought the Elise in 2009 because I could not slaughter an original Exige (back then below 20k you had one…)
Not much original anymore in regards of engine, cooling, uprights, brakes, etc
looked into the rules. If I place the wing within the bodywork and put a rubber on the edge on the back I might be ok’ish.
Just taking a gamble. Fed up with all the rules to be honest…
