WANTED - Elise S1 soft top side bars

Hello,

I need some way of getting my windows sealed on my Elise S1 111S race car, since there is a gap between the after market lightweight hard top on the car, and the top of the driver and passenger windows when fully wound up. Rather than make up some elaborate stuck on seal thingy (thats bound to fall off), it looks as though the original soft top side bars could fit underneath the hard top, and sort out the window problem. Unfortunately, no soft top was supplied with the car.

So, does anyone have a driver and passenger set of side bars for an S1 soft top hanging around, or a complete scrappy (I don’t want to pay hundreds of pounds) soft top that includes them? Failing this, does anyone else have the same problem that has been solved, and that a complete numpty like myself could successfully fit?

Hi Clive,
I like the idea but a problem could be that the soft top wraps around the side bars and the seal is on the soft top so there would still be no seal to the windows if you only use the side bars.

Can’t you just extend the sides of the roof down to stop the water going in?

Not really as the window sits inside the roof. I’d have to remember to wind the windows down a bit each time I open and close the doors, else it would knock any ‘extension’ off.

I hear what your saying, but if the seal is not on the bar it does give me a solid platform to bond one to it to get the same result. I think I’ve found these rails on SELOC, I’ll let you know how I get on.
