My set up is currently standard NA Exige Lotus discs front and rear, standard 2 pot calipers with RS42s. Not sure on fluid, half decent stuff I believe. Braided lines of course
I’ve talked to Dave at SL. Very helpful on the phone, gave some great advice. The 315mm discs will be no good with my 2 pots, 308mm is the biggest I can go and retain those. Braking force is fine right now, need to sort the heat issue so going to just go for the AP 308mm discs on the front. This also gives me the option of putting the 4pot AP calipers on in the future if I feel the need for more braking force.
The 308 Alcons are just great, with NO surface cracking issues that I had with my smaller AP rotors! Nitron Bells are the biz too!
I use R 600+ brake fluid as recommended by Rob a few years ago after some awful fade and a soft pedal. NEVER had ANY fade since, even with some really hot brakes…
Pads, well the usual bun fight about those! Cannot really fault Pagid 42’s at all… just a bit ‘wooden’ when cold, but they don’t stay cold for very long!!! I had this set-up on my heavy S2 as well!!!
2 pots work great with the 308’s… Dave will provide the longer bolts and spacers for them.
So a great upgrade value wise really… unless you want to go mad with all the bigger rotors and 4 pots etc…
