Chris,
Yep, on balance I think you are right… (except my driving is totally NOT up to the level of my flying!)
Off to CN’s it will be then…
… but only after I have learnt how to hit every bloody apex!
And that wont be next year either!
Seen your driving but not your flying - guessed the later may be your strength !!!
unless this was you in which case I take it back !!

The cheapeast solution has to be the gotham - 440cc injectors and the gotham remap get you around 260bhp.
You also don’t need a new fuel pump for 260bhp, the exige s pump is sufficient. I ran mine upto 300hp, but it was running 100% duty cycle so started to struggle sustaining over 300bhp.
Might also be worth looking into the standalone ecu that eliseparts will be selling next year…

Thx for that! There is obviously a call for this… the EP development sounds very interesting!
I’d be carefull when running the injector duty cycles past 90%. They’re not meant to run at this level and things can go very wrong…lean running means bye bye engine. I went with 550cc’s once I knew I was going past 270bhp solely for this reason. Plus once you start tuning…well you probably wont stop (!) so new fuel injectors are alwasy going to be needed at some stage so you may as well get them out of the way sooner rather than later and enjoy the safety of not running lean in the meantime.
The thoughts continue…!
Opinions…
IF I decide to go down this route, the following alternatives are in the mix!
Gotham via ‘Essex’ (Sincs). 440cc injectors plus a ‘standard’ re-map. Should give 20-30BHP more. 995 plus 20% VAT! But because I have a TRD, an 240 Cup intercooler and a 2ubular back box, a mapping session on their RR has been suggested by Andy as a good idea. Thats 295. I can also add 550cc injectors for 50 which would then ‘cover’ me for further tinkering in the future! Andy is certain that I will not need the uprated fuel pump as he says this is only required above 260 ish BHP.
Total cost circa 1600
CN upgrade. 440cc injectors, 211 ECU, uprated fuel pump. Cost 2000
THen there is the Elise Parts ECU coming out… (guess 800 ish?). Buy some injectors (500) then a mapping session (guess 300 ish). But all this is ‘unknown’ territory.
On the face of it, I like the fact that the Gotham options will map the car for what it is, wheras the CN option with the 211 ECU will just be a plug and play. But then I also get Lotus ‘back-up’ if things go tits!
Decisions eh!
Pete
You can have my 440cc injectors for a sensible price if you want them, drop me a PM to discuss.
PM on its way!
