Video Mount from Harness Bar?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a “plug & play” mounting bracket assembly which will allow a camcorder to mount via the S2 Lotus harness bar.

FWIW the camcorder is a Sony DCR PC110E.

Manfrotto Super Clamp widely available for about �15. Make sure you order the camera mounting stud, about �4.

I got mine from http://www.t4cameras.co.uk

I also used an adjustable Manfrotto camera mount to get it a little higher and provide a quick release mechanism.

Its a bit fiddly getting the superclamp on as you can’t turn the handle 360 degrees, but it does have a lift and shift mechanism to allow you to tighten it properly in the confined space.

Works really well. I tested it on a road trip and the footage was great including showing a Porsche a thing or too, but can’t post it as the speedo was visible!!!

I also removed the rear view mirror. Real easy, give the base of the arm a tap up towards the roof in line with window and it popped out real easy, leaving just a small mounting stub on the windscreen.
