VHPD Throttle bodies

Hey folks,

Whats everyones thoughts on the Rover VHPD throttle bodies? I have read on DVA that the manifold was rather restrictive but are they really that poor and can anything be done to improve them?

I know Jenvey’s DTH are highly regarded, but thought I would look down this route first.

Thanks in advance

Ben.

The Tbs have very narrow centres so the manifold is swan necked, the throttle plates also have softening wedges on them which affect throttle response. Manifolds are now impossible to get hold off and are prone to cracking so make sure the manifold is included and in perfect order if you buy. The IACV plumbing is also dire and makes the TBs hard to fit and near impossible on a VVC head.

Cheers for the info Dave…Jenveys it is then!

Ben.

Where can we buy these throttle bodies an how much are they???

Jenveys or Mg Rover items?

I understand that the Rover items are difficult to come by, most likely ebay although Jenveys can be bought from one of Jenveys distributors:

or: ptp-ltd.co.uk

Err… I am a Jenvey dealer…

Dave

lol! I didnt know that!

Dave, how much would a pair of DTH 42mm’s be supplied? I would be transfering as many of the original components over from my standard (vvc) induction setup to help lower costs.

Cheers

Ben.

Are there different type of OEM throttle bodies available with the VHPD? The ones on my engine are different for the ones on your site Dave?

Contact me direct for pricing…

There are two types fitted to VHPDs, the old KV6 type on a manifold and the later heavy DTH ones as fitted to the Exige.

S2 190 vsariants use very short Jenvey bodies…
