VHPD Octane

Just one easy/silly question…
I run 98 octane one the 190 vhpd.

Since I will take the car to a labratory in Uk for Emmison testing after the engine conversion (cant wait)… The car will then be running 95 octane.

So I was thinking to just fill the car up with 95 octane on the VHPD… Im pretty sure it dosent matter at all… But I just have to ask, the 190 VHPD will of course be fine with 95 /mix with 95/98… right??

Assuming you’re not driving far & fast! It will be fine - but might not run as smoothly.

Also, if you’re going to install a Honda, I’d recommend still using 98 octane (after the emmission testing!), as there is less chance of detonation at high revs

Thanks Pesky…

Its just a short trip…

Dident know about your recomendation for the Honda octane…

Make sure you map the engine with the fuel you’re going to run generally.

I will be using the 197 civic map (95 octane), and afterwards the 220 bhp “Honda” map…
Im not going to make my own map, dont think I need to.

The way I have understood it, the “220 map” is 95 octane map, but can also be used with benefits with the 98 octane… ??

You ought to be speaking with the peeps doing the conversion, & providing the map, but my recommendation still stands - use 98 octane, especially on track.
