VHPD Engine oil

Folks

What oil have you used, do you currently use and which d you favour?

The handbook states 15W/50 to 10W/60.

I realise things move on with oil technology and that was fifteen years ago however I’m interested to hear folks experiences and what they find has been good?

Planning an oil change tomorrow so need to source the correct / best oil?

Cheers

For my last few oil changes I’ve used Morris X-RPM Competition 10w-50 fully synthetic and been very happy with it.

They are now making a 10w-60 of the same product line, so I may try that at the next change.

Hi Evoman
I use full synt oil Castrol edge 10w60 !!

I race with a VHPD engine and Janspeed always recommend Titan (Previously Silkolene) Race Pro-R 15/50.

Tom

same here. Mostly because it has the approval for BMW M-Engines and is the oil i use in the Ms, so i have one oil for all my cars.

Hello everyone!
It’s time for oil change on my VHPD.
I’m currently using the Bardhal XTR 10-60 but I feel it too thick, the engine don’t run very well.
Some friends went for the Bardhal XTC 10/50, but I’m now reading about the Titan Pro S 10w-50.
Which one would you prefer?

Many thanks for your help !

CIAO!

Titan Pro user here. Seems good. Pretty expensive but it’s got a very good rep.

Many thanks Sharky !
I buy 5lt + 1lt from opie oil !

Thanks for your feedback!!!
Now it’s the turn for RBF 660 for my brakes.

THANK YOU ! !

With Opieoils purchase, I also get a flyer with a £60 wine voucher pourchasing a case of £99.99 from nakedwines.com
If you want this voucher for free, just pm.

CIAO !

I can recommend Naked Wines, so don’t miss out

Agree with Thommo. When I was in UK was a subsciber & went for the “mixed case” offers - never had a bad wine…granted some were more to my taste than others, but it’s all part of the enjoyment trying stuff, from smaller family producers, you won’t get in the supermarkets!

I received a voucher yesterday with my Fuchs oil. Googled Fuchs and naked to see what is was all about and then got distracted.

:open_mouth:

Guys, a question.
how many litres for engine oil and how many for brake fluid ? I don’t find anymore my file with the quantities…damn…

GRAZIE !

A 5 litre bottle has always been enough with my car, it leaves some for top ups before the next service.

I do my brake fluid every year and normally just put a fresh litre in. It probably takes a bit more than that for a total flush. I bleed them clutch, rear, front. That ensures the fronts get the maximum amount of fresh fluid.

Hi Siscos,

Could you please detail what do you mean when you say " engine don’tt run very well", what do you observe? thanks

First, I did a mistake (doesn’t…).

About the engine; I think XTR oil needs to be warmed up a lot, otherwise the I feel the engine raising up to the high rev, a little slower than with the XTC oil.
My mechanic confirmed my impression.

I think (for my use) XTR is too much racing

At the first trackday I will post my impressions with Titan Pro
