as above im sorry for asking this question and i feel the thread may well be terminated due to explicit content but…(my face is frowning whilst typing) can i make the exige a convertable .
i mean i enjoyed my vx220 with the roof off and would like to do the same on occasion with my exige, has someone worked out a way to make it convenient to remove the roof ie less than a 15 min exercise? again sorry for asking and im sure ill get some insults…but im a big boy now so i can take it…well maybe a bit of a gay big boy with wanting the roof off? lol
shame on you man
Pesky - come sort the lad out!
S1 engine cover hinge is part of the roof.
I’m sure some weirdo has done it
In short no.
The roof is partially retained by the rear clam (as well as the engine cover hinge as mentioned above), so you’d have to customise your roof rather extensively to make it removeable. I’m sure if you wanted to do it badly enough then it’s certainly doable, but I don’t think you’d find many here that would share your enthusiasm for the idea
Or, you could just buy an S2
Oh, and dont bother about Mr P either, secretly, he loves the idea…

David
how you done that then?
No idea I think splitpin did it
Honestly though, I wouldnt try it though Im sure it’s been done, I think I have a pic of a Swiss S1 with a soft top somewhere, Ill have a looksee…

Here we go…

Think there was a thread somewhere on here about it, no idea where though.

Horrendous… don’t like that at all. If you want an Exige looks while remaining a soft-top, the MADDOG Elige kit looks far far better than this.
After seeing that I’m DEFINITELY in the “don’t do it ya muppet” camp
Or, you could just buy an S2
We’ll not have kind of talk in the S1 section please!
how you done that then?
It’s called Photoshop.
Someone did do it in Germany or Austria IIRC but it was pretty rough the way it was done.

Exactly how Pesky likes it.
I’m sure that a couple of the Exige racers in Elise Trophy have tried it with the roof off - there must be pics
No chance . . .
dont you dare do that to the S1 !!!
Umm…leave it as an Elise if you want a convertible ?
Come on guys, from memory redhairsucks is based in Blackpool, what better than cruising the Prom on a Bank Holiday Monday with your roof off? Considering it could be an extremely long list answers on a postcard please
its not for a real exige anyway, is it?
