FYI since you mention downloading data from the cars ecu - I happened to be in a Lotus dealership in the west country not so long back and there was a W reg Esprit V8 in for a second broken half shaft in 11000 miles. The first one had been replaced on warrantee without question, however when the second one went - they called in the Lotus diagnostics man who downloaded the ECU data and promptly explained that the car had averaged one ‘standing start’ for every 9 miles of its life. In case you don’t know - Lotus describe a standing start as the clutch being engaged (whilst stationary) at engine speeds over 4000rpm. They also happened to notice that the max speed achieved was over 150mph!! Needless to say - the warrantee claim was thrown out [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
My warranty is going to be useless until I move somewhere where the traffic lights are further apart then.
Amazing that someone buys a car like that and subjects it to torture rather than enjoying it!I mean, the odd traffic light grand prix yes, but every 9 miles? There are some seriously backward people out there! My old Esprit would have imploded with 1 full bore start, never mind every 9 miles!!
