Hi AndrewI believe that you were at Aintree today (did you mention it last week??), how did it go?

Yep I was there Rob [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]I’ve sprinted at Aintree before and yesterday confirmed its a bit of a power circuit - I mean you really have to use 5th on the back Railway straight - I was at 120 in 4th at about 7K rpm, 5th slowed it down in the headwind [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]Anyway John someone - guess you know him of F40 ownership fame was there in an ex RV Exige X… ABN - and a few Ultima’s and other stuff.John X was very quick, I followed him for a lap progessing backwards and then lost him in traffic - he offered me a ride and I should have taken him up on it … [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image] cos he really knows the circuit)Followed Ultimas through the bends OK but they were rapid on the straights … but then 5.7 L V8 500 hp they should be eh [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]Was a good day, not as much fun as Angelsey ( there are only 4 corners …) they ran 4 - 10 minute sessions so we had quite some track time and I learnt more about the car again ( like what happens when you go too quick in a corner, on the wrong line …) so that was good, think I’ll be back for the May event next year but already in need of another “fix” sooner - work permitting.

Cheers for that Andy.John X is actually Geoff (or I suppose Jeff)!! I suspect that he will be at Anglesey next week too.I had the entry papers for yesterday, but decided I’d be pushing it to squeeze it in between 2 weekends in Anglesey!!

I was always good with those things you call people … Yep Angelesy is the better circuit for the Exige for sure - looking forward to a Cadwell Park day 'cos I just watched the video and that looks fun.

Pesky, I spoke to the guy who organised the trackday yesterday and he told me that the Alfa Romeo club buy the full trackday in May (29th May in 2003). He said that they struggle to fill it, so I am going to ring him and see if NORLOG can negotiate buying a session from them, ie. 10 or 12 mins every hour. Depends on price, but if its cheap enough we might be able to have some cheap fun !!SOOTY

Cadwell - sorry but I’m at Oulton on the 8th Nov.
