V power - good or bad?

Hi,

I’ve done a few searches, seems quite a few people are or have been using optimax/v power in the past.

I used optimax religiously in my VR6, same with a friends until after about 2 years of use both of our cars started suffering from misfires even cutting out in his case. One or two tanks of BP ultimate fixed the problem and going back to optimax again caused the troubles to return…

Optimax used to be 95ron fuel with additives to increase the rating to over 100 when it left the refinery. The problem was that they degrade, and as they do the ron rating also drops back towards 95. I think that these additives were starting to leave nasty deposits in the VR6 engines.

So, 2 questions, does anyone know if v-power uses degrading additives and has anyone else had problems with long-term use of optimax or v-power in their s2?

I had a friend with a Scooby who had to have his fuel system stripped as it clagged up with green slime after using Optimax. Another friend drained his fuel tank once and also found the green licquor in the bottom, very strange. Both cases were a long time ago though.

old optimax was great but i have had to stop using V power in the Clio Trophy as the car runs like sh1t with it

I also have switched to BP on the Clio and Exige.
