Easy… Sinclaire’s
Adrian/Frank,
I know about Sinclaire…as I understand it they want around US$2K for this upgrade, although the (dis)agreement between Charlie Wallace, Sector 111 and Sinclaire’s is not clear.
I need to keep my car on the road so am trying to find a used S ECU for the reflash, which I can then get straight from Charlie, and install the injectors myself. Hopefully this will total around US$1K max.
This way I can keep the original ECU for when it comes time to sell the car, and the modified ECU/injectors can be sold on separately…
Havn’t had much luck finding a used S ECU though…
Take care,
Price is the same if you go via Wayne or directly to Charlie, Wayne might actually be able to help with the second ECU, I know he has been building a stock of ECU’s recently or he may know where you can get them. I was going to do the same but then realised it wasn’t worth taking that part off for the cost of having a second one laying around for a couple of years as dead money. If I do ever sell I might try to buy one then or do a swap with someone and cash
FWIW …standard car will usually sell much easier and your original ECU has the car’s VIN on it’s (permanent?) memory.
Reflash on Charlie’s site is US$600 + shipping and Andy at Sinclaire’s told me today 1000 for the tune…so US$1400 for four injectors?? Dont think so.
I’ll talk to Wayne on Wednesday.
Take care,
Frank
Gotham tune for UK cars on Charlie’s site is
“Gotham Tune for Exige S 06/07 European/Asia $1200” ie over 600
Plus cost of injectors, plus import duty on the re tuned ECU, yes you do have to pay it if the package back is insured
The cost Andy told you I believe includes the injectors and fitting. Well that was the cost on the promo stuff they left in my car after it had been to Donnington with them…
Adrian,
My mistake on the Gotham Tune price - as you noted US$1200. Hoping to avoid the tax on a service item.
Take care,
Frank
I can see where you are coming from, but going direct will mean each time there is an update to the map you would have to send it back to the US rather than to Wayne, I don’t think the tax is much and you will end up paying it anyway if the package is insured just happened to me for another item I had sent from the US…
