upgrades - no car for a few weeks..

She has gone to essex for a holiday…

  • Charge cooling including light weight pipes, larger injectors and fuel pump, smaller pulley for the SC
  • baffled sump.
  • New triple pass rad
  • braided brake hoses
  • removal of non working aircon (or in porsche terms ‘air con delete’ )
  • some gauges
  • team dynamics 1.4 alloys (if available)

    And to think about 2 months ago I was planning a re-spray - obviously that’s on hold for the time being!

And before anyone mentions it, I’m already saving for the inevitable repair to my gearbox!

Can’t wait for her to be back - Andy says he’ll take some progress pics so I’ll upload these as I get them

Also bought a new roof with larger scoop from elise parts that I’ll fit when I get her back…

Not as extreme as many of the Audi / Honda conversions, but I’m really looking forward to the results!

As mentioned pics to follow (hopefully!)

Why AC removal, is it a keeper? I only saved 10kg max, which for me is good but I need all the weight loss I can get but if you plan resale surely it’ll be killer… :astonished:

Sounds like it’ll be fast enough…sounds good but I would consider keeping AC.

Hi Jonny - well it hasn’t worked properly since I have had the car…

I am leaving the pipes in and will keep hold of the condenser unit so we can replace it if I need to sell at some point. Generally agree with your advice - it seems air con definitely helps re-sale!

Have no plans to sell any-time soon though - with wanting to update the shocks, get a re-spray and probably the gearbox I have a few years worth of bits to keep me going - oh and of course more practise so I get at least half as good at driving as the car is!

Lol sounds good to me. Same boat here regards respray…but what colour!!!

10 kg ,I could sweat that , on a hot day , in an Exige!!

and you will if you remove the ac - so that’s actually a 20kg saving :smiley:

You might wish you could sell it if you did a long run on a hot day without aircon.

Kept mine for 12 years so little danger of that now (original non ac car).

Well, loosing weight is saving weight :wink:

Seriously though, it hasn’t worked at all in nearly 4 years of ownership so I doubt I’ll miss it much. I was tempted to get it fixed, but it could cost ~1k depending on which bits need replacing so money is going on tuning instead!

Johnny - colour is a difficult choice, may stay the same (silver) as I like it, but might go for a change and then there is the stripe / no stripe debate as well… You got ideas for your colour?

Just top up yearly with a 10 can of refridgerant…
Works for me .

And me !!! :confused:

I can’t make up my mind…I do have a thing for Audi Daytona Grey, my conservative choice ATM.

Some pics for the guys at essex autosport :slight_smile:

and more :slight_smile:

Feel a bit crap compared to some of you guys who have the skills / time / space to do this stuff yourself, but It’s great for me seeing a 'diary of the work they are doing.

Can’t wait to see how she drives when I get her back!

Few more pics, she is nearly ready… well apart from the charger and needing to be shipped off for a mapping session!

Gauges;

Initial engine testing with test pipe prior to charger fitting;

Boot, charger and she’ll be ready for the mapping session;

Liking these :sunglasses:

What intercooler are you having fitted?

Looks like a nice job, good stuff…bet you can’t wait to get it home…

I say good stuff, obviously you committed a heinous crime :wink:
