Injectors/ecu/fuel pump to go from 220 to 260hp
Forge Intercooler
Big brake upgrade for front
2x Schroth Harnesses
I’ve already got the supersports pack and all that brings, plus a larini sport exhaust and TRD air box, forged wheels and have done the letterbox roofscoop cutout dremmel thing - so not in bad shape already.
Car is booked in at Gugliami for a full geo and corner weight session on the 20th aug too.
Am I really going to notice any difference with the forge? Really??
I’ve not taken it out on track yet but just have spirited blasts round decent roads, but some of these may last for 15 to 30 mins with not really much mercy being given to the car.
I’ve been trying to research how much the car really suffers from heatsoak in the real world rather than when just on track. I tend not to sit in my car waiting at traffic lights or stuck in town as it’s my weekend fun toy.
Is there a tell tail way of knowing you’re suffering from heatsoak?
You will know when its heatsoaked it feels like the car has no go in it! Mine would do this when sat in traffic on the motorway as when it cleared I would accelerate and it would really feel slow. Now it doesnt do this at all, its like when you go out in winter you will notice the exige will feel really lively with the cold air being sucked in, thats the sort of difference.
However as you say if you dont sit in traffic all too often then the Forge may not be as useful to you but i wouldnt bother with the 260 upgrade without one.
Get the fecker on track as it is! Total waste of money modifying it otherwise. Once you’ve done loads of trackdays, & things have worn out, replace/upgrade them.
In other words, spend 5K on trackdays/instruction, learn about the car’s handling/performance, & once you are more capable than the car, then upgrade. Surprising number of folk chuck money at the car, rather than learning the basics.
As for our Mr P … Remember Rob that its not everyones primary aim to do lots of trackdays , time is a big obstacle as are other comittments …
If someone wants to add stuff to their car, then let them be …
Trackdays are fun , but not the sole reason for owning an Exige …
I suppose I am keen to get the car sorted to a stage where when using on track or during training sessions I won’t be disappointed by something that is the weak link.
Do people find they get heatsoak or brake overload/fade on track with standard components?
If they are all very capable of consistent hot laps (say 5 or 6 before taking a cool down) then I can see me waiting on the upgrades as suggested!
I can’t help but want to improve my car with shiney bits!!!
Well put Mark, thats exactly like it is …

Ask for an opinion, expect to get one…then do want you want…simples
Done the Forge on mine, makes some difference but will still eventually heat soak given enough time on track!
As for the brakes, the standard are pretty good maybe lacking bite when cold and feel. The pads are the weak link IMO. Change them out for something better and some decent fluid.
I’ve put AP304mm discs on the front and EP ally bells on the rear with CL RC5+ pads, awesome! Braided hoses to go on next but waiting for a rad change to make it worth the time/effort of clam off to fit.
Harnesses are great, one of the best improvements for the car especially on track!
The 308mm AP’s are fantastic, but in all seriousness change the standard pads and fluid for decent ones and wait till the discs wear out, by then you will know the car and will make excellent use of the new brakes.
As for what I’d do today sort the standard brakes and add the harnesses if you are going to track it.
Thanks. Jfk - I’ve just read your posts about your CN upgrade.
Did you go from a 220 white dash to a 255 cup map or did you pay for a 260 map?
I presume you had fuel pump, injectors and ecu? You got the forge too?
If you don’t mind me asking - how much did CN charge you exluding the forge?
The ECU has 211 labeling on it Direct from Lotus via Christopher Neil (dealer near Crewe)It’s either the 260 or 270…
Uprated fuel pump fitted at the same time.
Bigger injectors too.
Car went on the dyno on Monday afternoon…277 bhp.
They needed the car for 2 days…
Cost all in was 1907
Iv’e got the white dash … Confused still as to what difference the dash makes
Iv’e said this before but will say again …
THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE in performance gains to my car is when I fitted the Forge /scoop and fettled the clam…
I will honestly say that , although the CN upgrade is Ace it didn’t quite transform the car as did the Forge/roof.
Maybe my old standard intercooler was clogged/whatever having done 38 K miles ??
Love the car now …It’s as I dreamed of when I first wanted one .
