Tyres again AD08

Guys, after a little honest input as I am not sure what to do. I totally shreadded one of my rears at anglesey (not sure how in the wet) and car is now off the road until its changed.
Last year I went all R888’s but I am thinking of ditching these in favour of a full set of AD08 yokos.
I seem to get two TD’s out of the rear R888’s and its a factor in putting me off doing more as I really cannot justify the cost at the moment. The AD08’s seem to get better reviews than the Toyo R1R on other makes of car and they come with double the tread of an R888…
Considering my car is still mainly a road car I am just not really getting the use out of the R888’s on the road and in the wet the AD08 will no doubt be safer.
What bothers me are dry trackdays, will I see much of a difference? The AD08 is still classed as a trackday tyre so can’t be all bad but I dont want to loose confidence in the dry.
However I am no racing god so my thoughts are I am probably no where near the limits of the R888’s anyway.

I went in Neil’s car on Friday and was very impressed by the R1Rs he was using, maybe consider them?

this is an AD08 if you don’t know

Could do Ade but they only have 6mm tread and I know they were standard fit on one of the EVO’s and their drivers seem to be saying the AD08 is better. Its difficult as there is still not much info on the exige.

Well go be brave andtest them for all of us

who fitted those??
yellow dot should be next the the valve!

Not sure, a guy on seloc has them on his type 25 Jim Clark. I stole the photo from there.

I would try the AD08 Andy, the consensus amongst owners of other marques and even reviews puts it slightly above the R1R with more tread and longer life = Win

Thats what I seem to be reading too

How do you find the R1R’s against R888’s/48’s on a dry track? I am guessing on friday they were a winner

Not Adams and Page for sure… also they would have fitted stubby motorsport valves, easier when adjusting tyre pressures coz the don’t wobble about plus will not be damaged if you clip a kirb, I’ve know long valves stems chopped off on circuit and the tyre deflates very quickly…not good

R1R are pretty good on a dry track, they will start to fall off in performance after about a dozen or so laps (depends on circuit) as the tyre has a bigger and greater amount of tread blocks movement = more heat.

For a dry day stick to 888/48 for pure speed and longevity as the R1R will start to suffer, though I haven’t really tweaked the pressures too much experiment with this.

I would have gone for a set of the AD08’s last time round but was told that they didn’t make the exige size for the front. Possible that they do now or people are running a 205?
