wow - first post!!
just wieghing up options for the 2 weeks / 3 track day trip to France in August…
options:
-
chuck on 4 new 888’s and take 2 rears in the pax seat
-
travel down with near shot 888’s and chuck a new set in the pax seat (it can be done!)
-
chuck on some normal road tyres (i.e. not semi slicks)
if i go for option 3, what tyre options do i have???
I tried to get 2 fronts in recently (Exige) and although they did fit in, I could not use 1st, 2nd or the handbrake!!
I wouldn’t want them falling on me round a corner either.
I managed to get 2 rears in for a drive to swop wheels, never again, might try 2 fronts.
I would just fit new and wing it, if they do wear out pick up some cheap rears to get you home
SORRY, SHOULD OF MENTIONED, I HAVE A s2 Elise…but with S2 Exige wheels,
but thought this would be the best place to ask!!
burt
I’d stick new on and wing it.
Are there no tyre places in France if you need them?
I’d stick some normal tyres on - if you go for 888’s and damage/puncture one are you sure you’d get a matching replacement ?
You could always use the normal tyres for winter/wet use etc

You didnt try hard enough 2 rears can be got in with use of all controls.
Not elegant but neither am I.
