Tyre Noise Query?

My 06 “S” makes a sort of woo-wooing noise between 30 and 45mph, mostly on a light/neutral throttle.

It continues if you select neutral and depress the clutch just coasting.

I thought it was a wheel bearing or maybe even an output shaft bearing, but after checking the wheel bearings, the dealer has concluded that it is tyre noise.

The car has done 10.7k miles (only 400 with me), so I don’t know when the tyres were last changed.

It is on 48’s, which look to me fairly worn, but to be frank they look worn to me brand new! They haven’t reached the markers yet, maybe 3 - 3.5mm on them?

Anyone else had this and is it likely or have I just been fobbed off?

Me & Kate Humble hope you’re taking care of it

LOL - on a similar vein, I saw Bill Oddie on some cooking programme this morning and they were cooking wild Mallard, he looked well uncomfortable!

Anyway, it was the best I come come up with to describe the noise!

Do you think tyre noise is likely? - I have never had it before on TT’s, M3’s or 911’s all with shagged out tyres, so aye is a bit vexxed innnit?

If they have 3-3.5mm they are quite new, A048’s only come with 4mm new…
Does the noise change on different surfaces?

Yours must have been used then, expect 5mm on new ones

It does slightly, never goes away but oddly enough is louder on brand new, billiard table smooth blacktop?
