type R rebuild

After months lying unloved in my garage i have made a start on my re-build of the exige, ive got my re-built engine back from clockwise motion and am attempting to get it ready for the lot race at oulton on the 27th of june, i actually have to get it done for the 11th for a re-map so going to be burning the midnight oil this week

As well as the engine build im adding a motorsport roof, splitter, engine cover and a new paint scheme (as white is now so common )

Engine spec is 2150cc, Darton liners, big valve head, race pistons and rods, race bearings, baffled sump etc
Almost looks too nice to bolt the head on

Nice. Are you chucking some cheeky cams in too?

Std cams Dave

Have you thought about chucking a JDM inlet cam in? It supposed to give decent gain with a charger.( only heard this with a JRSC though not sure about the rotrex)

I will try and find the link for it as it was interesting reading.

How do you get round the rear handbrake issue coem mot time, and this is the car you might be selling yeah

How do you get round the rear handbrake issue coem mot time

He takes an Audi lump with him in the passenger seat, then chucks it out when required, as it acts as a great anchor

Where have you positioned the rear axle stand? It looks too far forward toward the blue sticker jacking point area?

I thought the cars have a tendency to fall backwards off the stands if you don’t put the rear stands in the cutout area of the chassis rails near to the lower suspension arm fwd pick-up point.

Just a thought from your saftey officer…

No need to worry about that mitch, this is the special lightweight engine version with only 3 conrods and a see-through block

I thought all of your Honda engines only had 3 conrods and see through blocks!!

is it alive?

Yep it lives again, hopefully i will give it a good running in on sat in the lot race
