Tuner Gp

Not got any times yet, but results:

  1. Steve Guglielmi driving an Elise Audi (Bernard conversion)

  2. Dax with Hyabusa turbo

  3. Evosal’s car (Edwards Boyz conversion)driven by Randy

Well done to all those connected with 1st & 3rd

Good job guys. Well done Steve G and Randy (and Evosal) for keeping the lotus flag flying. Good effort to beat a Dax rush with over 400 bhp!

Super stuff - look forward to seeing tackle they whooped

3rd is pretty blooming amazing when you think (although it may have changed) that it’s a pretty std S1 other than a set of Nitrons, a std Honda K20 and a SC. You could build you own for about 30k.

Is that right EVOSAL or have you been spending money on it?

Ian

ps. Oh and I’m sure the driver helped (no offense Randy )!

Ian

Not spent anything on it, we really struggled with the brakes and suspension, we even had to borrow a set of pads out of a spectators car !! really should have done at least some preparation on the car but it was an excellent result.
Randy really is a fantastic driver and managed 3rd place against all the odds

Excellent news… well done Bernard !!

What spec was the engine in the winning car ?

(Sad to hear about SteveBs engine )

(Sad to hear about SteveBs engine )

It was a big port headed 1.9 litre with all the goodies like steel rods, light flywheel etc.

It was only running to 7000 rpm then the engine cut, not sure why yet, it normally revs to 7800. It was also running 1.2 bar boost when we could have gone to 1.5. Steve G reckons it could have done mid 1 minute 13’s if we needed to.

Where do I sign !!

Well done Bernard and thanks for the ride in the red Elise, would have loved to go out in the yellow one .
And well done Evosal, what time did Randy do in the end ?? Did i hear he got with a tenth of the Dax???

Just a few pics. I will sort some more when i got time.

Errr, don’t think so. I think the best he did in the end was about 1 min 16.4 which was 2 secs slower than the Audi and 1.6 secs slower than the DAX.

Bernard

Oh right must have miss heard that then, still good going the best i did round Snett in my Golf was about 1:20

Great result guys.

Well done to all involved!

With all due respect Bernard if we had proper brakes and decent suspension rather than more or less standard the times would have been much much closer !! Mine is road car driven on a 7 hour round trip to and from the event that is the difference !!!

ps. We also managed to nudge the black mid engined exige racer on false plates into 4 th place

False plates ? They are the original road car plates for it. I admit it is the mid engined racecar and to be honest I didn’t think it was the best idea to enter it. But Tony couldn’t resist a cheap track day at Snett.

The yellow car is road legal and I have driven it many times on the road.

Anyway, when are you going to get a silencer for it ?

Bernard

Check it yourself R618KCD, no records held on dvlc, hpi, or the police computer i even checked R618KCO same result

Anyway no point splitting hairs we need to stick together, we are going to be blown into the weeds next year by king K

Hmmmm, interesting, I didn’t know that. The previous owner gave them to me along with the V5, I must admit I didn’t cross check them. It’s got a current MOT, I would have thought that would have flagged up a problem.

Anyway as you say, lets not split hairs. I am quaking in my boots just thinking of the challenge we will face when KingK finally does come up with something.

I’d like to clear this up, I’ve got the V5 here, if you want to IM me fax number I can send it over to you.

Does that actually proves anything, Bernard, cos isn’t a “V5” just a “historical” piece of paper, which was superseded by the document “V5C/3” from 2004? Even the latter document would mean bugger all in the copntext of this discussion, if the car has been de-registered for road use (for whatever reason), & not taxed as such.

Personally, I couldn’t care less - just fantastic to see the the Loti doing so well - again!
