Just to add to my previous post, what most lotus enthusiasts are worried about is we have been able to buy a great product fantastic to drive and look at an affordable price,by people who appreciate the brand.Let the fat cat banker types and money grabbers buy the soul less porkers and the ferraris, because all they are bothered about is the badge and bragging about what they can buy.Not interested in the heritage and how Lotus got there, that is what we do not want to lose. You only have to look at how many different clubs ,forums and specialists there are for Lotus, for such a small brand compared to other brands.I would also like to say what a cracking forum this is with everybody helping each other out, exchanging information and above all having a laugh.
I agree, but somehow they should retain that and get a much bigger or more profitable customer base. A loyal fan base would b e good too, however lotus have abandoned that before & we’re all still here
As an aside, I borrowed my mates F430 Spider for a wedding a month or so ago (I drove the groom to the venue in it) and I was thinking it was all hype and no substance. How wrong could I have been, it was awesome, with so much feel and connection and the engine was amazing and sounded very very cool. I owned a 911 turbo for a while and i thought that was soulless and I wasn’t sad to see it go, but this Ferrari was truly amazing.
Oh and yeah my mate that owns the Fez is a banker. haha
Maybe the government can see Lotus are barking, and the following business plan doesnt stack up.
“So Elise - yeah great 4 cylinders and some kinda blower, ok next car”
“ok well make it bigger and wang in 2 more cylinder to make a V6 - perfik, neeexxxt”
“another one with 2 more too - yeah sweet a V8”
“V10 to complete the deck? - Fuck yea”
“suppose we should do a cygnet too - yeah ur right, lunch?”
Perhaps Lotus or Proton :S is just getting out while the going is good? UK is already ruined cash wise then you have Ireland after a handout they Spain and Portugal.
Perhaps they dont want a product made in not so great britain anymore, as for heritage hah! dubai and those kinda countries are the up and commers UK im afraid is finished…
I just saw the new line up at the LA auto show and ordered an Esprit, after taking a very close look at the engine I think it has some potential…
Fact is anyone bitchin is not gonna buy a new Lotus since there are so many used cars for sale if it’s a cracker jack box of a car you want…
Lotus need to dump the Elise/Evora and run a three car line up…
Well done Frank
Now if I can just not kill my self during the next two years I’ll be a happy camper…
The idea of waiting is too foreign for me to comprehend…
Only 2 years? Are we taking bets on that?
Well if they don’t have it by then it better have a foldable walker option and grab rails to get in/out or the deal’s off…
Did you order the fairy dust option Frank
Along with the gold plated straw… and arm candy…
Frank I really, really hope that these new cars happen - but won’t be lodging my deposit just yet
If they just make one full tilt version of the Esprit and the Elan they will have a real market… No one needs a new version of the Elise/Exige since they are so cheap on the second hand market…They can’t even sell the Evora at a 9k price reduction…
No money has changed hands yet…
Good on you Frank, would love to order an Esprit I have always wanted one, sadly spent all my hard earned on a new house instead.
It is the Esprit that always made me love Lotus…
On a side note do you know what is wrong with moremonkey? I’m missing my fix

Cool Frank I’ve joined
