TRD fitting woes

Hi Dave, thanks for your help, but its all on the car now. It’s not the filter that is the issue it is the adapter that goes on top of the filter to help retro fit the original front section of the air box. Two issues with it, its twisted which appears to be down to the moulding process and secondly the pegs, which where easily resolved. I read in other forums that it was advised to remove these pegs.

Its discussed here… TRD High Flow Air Filter Air Box | Page 4 | The Lotus Cars Community starts post 66

If your reasonably happy then thats me also happy!!
Still cant understand it, just tried three diff TRD kits and they all fitted very very easily to the top part of the airbox. They all have those little pegs but non stand high enough to get in the way.
If you do need any more help etc you know where i am

Just a couple of questions,1 can you fit a k&n panel filter into the standard air box on the sc cars without modification to the sensors.2 can you fit a vis on the sc cars without modifiction to the sensors.3 is there any benifit in fitting a TRD instead of the original filter set.4 do the cars run lean after any of these mods.

Think that the K&N filter oil will contaminate the MAF ??

I’ve been running a K&N in an N/A for about 5k and no problem so far, just think you need to be careful if re-oiling and at 40 it’s the cheapest replacement filter out there

Who has the K&N,s in stock?

Opie oils i think.

Ebay K&N Part No 33-2145-1

Now that I have the TRD box fitted can anyone tell me what I do with the pipe that used to go to the bottom of the stock airbox ? it fitted onto a extra plastic housing that contains a paddle of some description ?

Nowt !

remove all the pipes that don’t go anywhere
