Traction Control System

Just been out and about and as the roads were quiet (must be the Grand National), I thought I may as well scrub in the new rear 48’s around some large, A road traffic islands.

On 3 occasions, the traction control light on the dash and by the gearstick came on - and stayed on (indicating that the system was disabled?), requiring a press of the button to re-engage it.

This doesn’t seem right, that by activating the traction control safety net, it then disengages?

Is it a case that it assesses how much abuse it is getting (as opposed to just catching the odd wheelspin) and turns off - or is mine broken???

I’d say yours has a fault with it. I’ve seen mine flash on a few occasions but once traction is regained the light goes out.

I noticed the TC disengaging occasionally when on track with my 07 Exige n/a. (Many would say that it should be disengaged anyway of course, but given my limited talent I preferred to have the extra safety net there and did not find it too intrusive).
Should not do this, possibly an electrical connection fault or even fact that button can maybe inadvertently get activated if you are resting left leg on centre console. Better places to position that button I think.

GDR, I think you may be right about the leg thing - it is possible to get just enough pressure on the button to switch it off if you aren’t careful!
