Tracksport Exhaust

Oh no not another exhaust thread

With all the recent talk of exhausts, and getting maddogs new diffuser on the car I thought it was about time I posted some proper pictures of the Hanger 111/Quicksilver exhaust I had done for my car. Some of you will have seen it at Donnington, but now the diffuser and the heat shielding have been sorted out, I think its a much neater install.

The exhaust is repackable so if you are so inclined you can change the packing material for different sound levels. Mine was tested at completely track day friendly 96db at 6000 rpm, static.

It has a much sportier note than the standard exhaust but with none of the motorway boom I got with the stage 2.

I had the exhaust off when fiddling with the heat shield and replacing some of it with exhaust wrap. Its coloured up nicely. Its a pity you don’t see it so much, unless you have the number plate off.

Picture from below after fitting the new diffuser.

Gives an idea of how far the tip extends. Basically it would just exit the rear panel if you had gone for a 111S style rear panel instead of the eliminator kit.

I put the exhaust on the bathroom scales and it came in at 7.1kg so a useful saving on the stock, and a couple of kilos lighter than the stage 2.

Many thanks to Greg and Hangar 111 and Paul at Quicksilver for sorting it out for me.

This was done as a prototype but I think Greg’s now ready to take orders. If you do call, mention that you saw it on my car and perhaps some beer tokens might come my way

Cheers
Will.

As if your not told enough your car is truly beautiful to behold

With the new rear getup, it’s got to be the perfect S2, well done mate

David

Looking good mate, hope to see you out on track soon

BTW I remeber you had the same prob as me with the wheel arch-liners getting worn away. I have got from Plans some harder springs which I will be fitting shortly. I will let you know how they are.

Cheers guys,

Jamie, I’m interested to know what rate those new springs are, and once you’ve got them fitted, how you find them on the road.
