Trackday tyre pressures

Guys,
Can anyone recommend decent tyre pressures for the track day I’m doing at Blyton on Wednesday? I heard from someone in Lotus racing circles that 19psi Front and 18psi Rear (cold) would be a good starting point…

Cheers,
Kurt

Need the tyre types, sizes etc

Standard S1 Exige Yokohama tyres, standard sizes, standard weight, Gaz Suspension (I know, I know)…

Yoko’s - A048’s - I ran them at 20 cold with a hot target of 24

R888’s - as above but with an extra 1 PSI

Hope this helps

Nice one Chris, they are A048’s and I’ll go with that unless folk have a serious reason why I shouldn’t. Thanks and I’ll let you know how I go on.

I run my AO48’s at 27psi hot.

22f/24r hot on 888s.

25 all round hot for me on 888s

It had been suggested to me (by somebody that ought to know) that the rears should be slightly higher.

Then again, Lotus themselves always use to say 28 all round.

Just had AO48s fitted on standard S1. What pressure for ordinary road use, do you think?

For me…

Road 24f 28r (cold)

Track 20f 24r (cold)

Ok, thanks. I’ll adjust them

I aim for 28 hot.

That can sometimes equate to as low as 15 cold depending on how hard you push and the weather on the day.

also depends on when the last time your tyre fitter drained the water out of his compressor.

Drained mine last week for the first time in 2 years as I was doing some spraying … Garage floor is now a nice shade of rust …

…are you sure you’re not getting confused with the search criteria you use on russianmistresses.com

hahahahaaha

And how many people have actually just looked at russianmistresses.com

i know i did.

Pervert. I just made it up

i know you made it up you tart, as there was not a russian lovely to be seen!!!

I found anything over 26 psi (hot) on 48’s wants to wear the centre of the tyres out resulting in uneven wear. 24-25 hot for me
