Trackday Insurance Cover

Are Autotorque that poor at customer service then?

They can be a tad frustrating! Nice people though.

I rang the advertised number for Esteem on SELOC but got through to AON (wierd). Just called the number you gave and it’s still AON. Must be the same company, and they wouldn’t cover Fiona as she’s too young

Nice guy at Autotorque, he even apologised for having an S2 Exige

Just loathed to pay for something that doesn’t make the car go any faster or stop quicker

Oh contraire - knowing that if you bend you have to pay in full usually means you will be a little more cautious than if you know its insured…I don’t mean you go like an idiot…but there is definitely something there.

I have no personal experience, so perhaps I shouldn’t have said that…just if you read a few of the other insurance threads, it has been commented on. Who knows - they may be very busy just because they give good quotes!

Scratch what I just said then

Eggar Lawson were cheapest for me,

590ish
4 trackdays,
No windscreen cover (but I can get one fitted for 200ish so I’m not fussed)
1 year NCB (35 year old)
5k miles.

It all seems pretty random TBH, I couldn’t get a quote under 750 with anyone else.

I was looking for insurance for my works van, and rang the same place twice in error, and got a quote difference of 100.

So if you get a [censored] quote, just ring the next day and it might be better.

Random Random Random.

What trackday organisers tend to get the OK from CCI & Autotorque?
LoT?
Anyone else?

The lists pretty long about 3/4 page full of different operators listed with CCI.

So its not too bad, they just would not do eg KH own days?

Just got the paperwork out for CCI and KH, Castle Combe,Anglesey,Brunts,Croft,Goodwood, and about30 others are overed as well.

Well Autotorque have really pissed me off. Seems that they can’t be bothered to quote me for insurance. So many promises of phone calls… no contact. = Lost business

They’re a bit funny like that. I don’t know what it is…

I’ve never had a problem (except for tardy certificates), but have heard many stories like yours.

Maybe they’re just overrun with business, but they seem to be getting a reputation for not getting back to people.

I think Mr.Pesky knows John O, the MD. Maybe he can put a word in…

I am trying to get a quote off them too. Over many phone calls it seems like the peeps there are a bit swamped and the underwriters seem to be the delay.

Chris there has managed to get a quote off one of their underwriters -its taken 10 days

Would like to see if they can beat CCI but there is only so long I can wait!

Chris was the person that has failed to get back to me. Even if they were having a real problem surely just a quick call to say so and give an estimate of how long it will take, would have been a better way of doing it rather than just ignoring you.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have joked about the S2 Exige

Thought I would tell everyone my findings and hopefully save some peeps time!
Autot. after all that wont do TD on under 28s
Went for CCI under 800 with TDs
Also asked what would happen when the SC is on the car, it will raise by 10% so not too bad.
This quote was the cheapest for me and its got TDs

Anybody successfully managed to get a proof of no claims out of Autotorque?!

They’re not making my new insurer (Esteem, gave AT every chance to get close to it) very happy with me!

I might not be able to drive my car if they don’t send it on the THIRD time of asking.

Ian

They’re a waste of time. Didn’t even bother quoting for insurance, despite several requests.

Good luck getting anything out of them.

have to agree that AT are exceptionally frustrating to deal with. I’d not bother wasting time with them again.
Denis

They didn’t back to me last year either, went with Eggar Lawson.
