I suspect from your set up you will be too loud or cetainly borderline, when I had my Sport190 I had the same set up and it was too loud for most tracks so I put on an elise parts silenced crp and it made it quiet enough for tracks without loosing any noticable performance.
Same spec as mine was. It was hovering about 104-105db. I swapped the CRP for a silenced CRP and got measured at 97db last time out at Elvington a few weeks ago.
I’m sure its a bit louder than that tbh. There didn’t seem to be much performance pentaly either. I got mine hand made on the car in stainless by Rebel power pipes in Barton upon Humber. It was 70ish but you have to take the car in.
You need a Silenced CRP at the very least, although 103 is quite high so you may just get by however the investment will be worthwhile for other events … like Cadwell
I’m just booking 2nd June as a shakedown for my project so maybe see you there
Pesky - yeah I know … I have some quite dead 48’s and my master plan includes a winter 2007 respray so I wont cry to much … Oh and my screen is cracked already -
Cool, 2 x Black Honda SC cars Anyone else fancy coming,…I will see if I can get Tap along in his ITR.
Agreed that the noise is a concern but mine has a new exhaust and big silencer now so we’ll have to see. Plenty of spaces so I will probably book next week.
gents…be careful with Bedford…whilst its a great first time circuit cos you have to work REALLY hard to hit anything…the sphinctre police are in full effect!
I know I only drive a girly S2 but I got black flagged on the drive by 10 laps into a LOT day having passed the static with room to spare.
If memory serves me the static is circa 93 or 95 but the drive by is 89 and I was 91. Apparently the weather has a big effect on the noise as does the car itself…so my 964 RS failed the static but didnt trip the drive by all day!
Just my own experience. I’d hate you to lose your shirt on your first day! I went home…I didnt have and couldnt bear to muffle all that bhp i tried to liberate!

Yes well aware of the noise police at Bedford - Andy and I both got black flagged in my car last time (Andy on second lap at the beginning of the day ). It had blown the silencer to bits though so was pretty loud.
At least I know where the noise meters are now new exhaust should allow the fitment of a SuperTrapp too
Done Elvington many times with BAT and nearly the same setup as you (no Emerald and just the Lotus pulleys) and never had a problem. It has been a little while now but I don’t think the noise level limits have decreased?
As a contingency, you could get a silenced cat pipe and just take it with you. If its needed on the day BAT bring a spanner monkey with them and he’ll change it there and then for a few beer tokens.
Heed what Mr Pesky says regarding tyre wear and don’t turn up with a new set!
Stonechips aren’t a problem unless you are too slow to overtake

Ah, that’ll be it then
Mind you, I have avoided Elvington for 4 years now - I really don’t like flat circuits at all. Give me Oulton, Cadwell, or Donington anyday of the week, over Silverstone, Croft, Bedford etc
As it happens, just cancelled a Croft day to do Le Mans Bugatti instead with Mr Bean I’d only booked Croft because of the guys going to be there (NYLOC), but the lure of a few days in Belle France was too great…
Sounds like a bad case of flexi time and too much disposable income to me
I like to try and get back to Elvington at least once a year - it’s where I did my first ever track/airfield day, it’s very local, the sun usually shines on the righteous Yorkshiremen and it brings back many pleasant memories
All vehicles participating in track days at Bedford Autodrome must conform to MSVs static noise test limit of 101dB(A). Noise checks to establish adherence to this limit will be conducted in accordance with current measuring methods as defined by the MSA. Essentially this means that the test will be carried out with the meter 0.5m from the car exhaust at a 45 degree angle with the car at maximum revs.
In addition to the static test mentioned above, vehicles must also comply with our drive-by noise limits. The noise emissions from any vehicle must not exceed 87.5dB(A) measured 20m from the car, which shall be accelerating maximally at over 60mph. Drive-by levels are monitored using noise meters located at several locations around the Bedford Autodrome complex.
If the results of the monitoring show that a particular vehicle is exceeding the drive-by limit of 87.5dB(A), then MSV staff will inform the participant and their vehicle will not be permitted to take further part in the event until the participant has addressed the noise levels generated by the vehicle to bring them within acceptable limits. Further participation in the track day may be precluded if acceptable drive-by limits cannot be achieved at the first drive-by test following the addition of extra silencing.
