Track day noise emission tests

I am taking my Exige out to Goodwood soon and was wondering whether anyone has encountered any problems regarding noise emmissions ? I know that they can be quite tight on noise levels on such meetings. My car has had the 190 upgrade, standard exhaust.

Standard exhaust will give you NO problems.SuperSports are borderline.

Kam.let me know when you are going, My car is due a tickle. The 190 upgrade is being done as we type. Should make for some interesting testing!

Hi Keenan,Hopefully be at Goodwood on 28th May, along with mate who is bringing his 340R as well. You should know that your car after upgrade will be SOOOOOOOO much faster, will bring a big smile to your face. you will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!!!

My car has had the 190 upgrade, standard exhaust.I took my car to Goodwood and had no problems getting on the track, but was close on the drive-by testing. I have the full 190 upgrade, stainless steel supersports exhaust and stainless steel cat bypass pipe fitted.I believe the limit is 105db at Goodwood, but the car has got a bit quieter as the exhaust soots up (this always happens with stainless exhausts).Watch out for the bump on the first corner and the exit from the chicane, it’s very slippery!

Jaycee - what revs did they measure at? They did mine at 6000 (3/4 of 8000) which revealed 110db - so couldn’t go on. I have same spec as u.You must have gone on a “noisey” day - it was a 95 limit on the Saturday I went to.

As far as the testing goes, when the muppet with the meter asks what it revs to, I always say 6,000, whatever car I’m in. That way, you only have to rev it to 4,500 - 5,000. They don’t have a clue what it will really do!The testing is notoriously vague, as they often hold it too close, or not at 45 deg. as they are supposed to. I get a different reading everytime.Jaycee
