Track day mpg

I know no tracks, drivers, cars and weather conditions are the same but, what do people get as their mpg on track days, measured with some accuracy, fill to fill.

For me, Donny national, Na S2 with no engine mods gets 14mpg. I am guessing a 240s would be more like 8?

Mates 911 4s was down to 4mpg and a set pads in an evening!

About 8 or 9 mpg in a 260 so and 6.7mpg in my evora s

I think the worst we ever saw was just over 3. That was with about 550hp around Spa.

As Sean would say, it was properly going

S1 Exige Supercharged and charge cooled Honda K20 around Castle Combe at full race speed uses just over 1 litre per lap (1 lap is 1.84 miles in around 1 min 9 secs) so about 8.4 mpg or around 30+mpg normal road use. Pretty good I reckon

…and when Mark says ‘full race speed’ he certainly means it. I still remember when the Elise Trophy went to Castle Combe back in the old Class-C days with Randy/Scuffer/Walshy/Sean ect. More memorable than the ET race was the Special GT race, where in drying condition you were leading for most of the race against a large field of Radicals etc,…as the circuit dried out the lightweight aero cars started to exploit their advantage and erode your lead…fantastic stuff. Here’s a fantastic vid of Mark starting at the back of the grid at CC and errr…making progress through the field. Make a cuppa and enjoy :sunglasses:

Anyways Mark, are you still running the car? We don’t hear from you much.

I think 8mpg is around what I measured once (which, helpfully, I can’t remember if it was the K or S1, K I think).

8ish was my good guess and looks about right. Reason for asking is wondering how often I will need to fill up if I super charge my car. It is ok at Donny where there is a pump but a pain at Anglesey! I normally refill twice on a track day.

I like the time for a nap down the straights in my NA car so may put of f the charger for another year, especially as I now have Jonny’s brakes from Comit to play with.

70-80 miles on a tank in my 260S.

Shrek was a little more economical at Anglesey in April but that was because I was in Miss Daisy mode.

Croft on Sunday in the Elise so will see how that does.

My VHPD S1 gets worse mpg than my S2 and i regret to post is not as fast (with me driving) but I have rubbish pads fitted so can’t stop, I need to change them. I am not sure of the exact mpg but I filled up twice at Donny and was on fumes at the end. It makes a better noise though and the instructors love it.

You neeeed one of these!!!

Not raced it since winning the Gt championship in 2010 but still doing the odd track day etc. Keep thinking of selling (if the price was right) as not getting as much use as I would like mainly due to having had a few ops on my right ankle and not sure what I would replace it with anyway. Always looking on the forum but don’t post much as I think people generally have better things to say than me. Cheers.

Keep posting Mark, most of us I would think have less better to say but still do

Agreed, the amount of tosh posted in here…

I’m not surprised you won the championship, you and that car around CC were properly quick.

If you’re doing trackdays in the car now Mark, why not join us? A few of us at Donny on the 21St Oct and then there’s always our annual day. It would be great to see you and the car…
