Hi guys - sorry to bring another tyre question. Running Toyo R888 in GG compound for daily ride all round, sizes per origin, Nitron/Eibach suspension. Running 1.6 to 1.7 front, 1.7 to 1.8 bar rear. I find it extremely difficult to get a suitable gripping front train, tyres staying very cold. Any advise - on pressure or compound ? Thanx for your imput.
what toe angle do you run?
Hi Sean. Due to a bent lower FR L wishbone, I had it changed, took the opportunity to fit the Nitron / Eibach kit I had for 3 years in its box and went for a full geo at a Lotus independant who has a strong reputation doing also trackday cars. So I guess I’m at original settings.
A load of fellas I have met cut there 888’s and personally with a well balanced car I have had good experience, even in standing water. 888’s Rock IMO…on track.
Find out what geo settings your car has now and we might be able to point you in the right direction. (pun intended).
Switched to them last year & lover them. BUT I’m told Toyo have stopped making them!
At what ambient temperatures are you struggling to get heat into the front tyres? Where do you normally undertake your track days?
In addition also can you tell me roughly what position your front dampers are?
Tom
