I need to clarity here if I am being a numpty or not.
I purchased a new towing eye in dog nob red to tidy up the front end of the car. I was assured its good for a s2. Snag is the threaded bar is miles too short.
Am I doing something wrong?
I can’t remember what an S2 looks like so can’t help on fitting but I have heard rumours of the ebay ones that looked like that coming apart in use, which makes them like the Lotus ones which bend when you are being dragged away from Craners.
For those reasons I used an FIA approved one from Elise Parts, until some herbet stoke it.
Spoken to the vendor and a new longer rod needed 
I had one of those fitted but sold it, it rattled against the grill/mesh all the time.
Now have an FIA approved from Elise Parts, which, if you turn horizontally holds a pint of beer perfectly 
I bought a cheap Chinese one to add some colour to the front of mine. I keep the FIA one in the boot for emergency use. I had to make up an adapter to fit it due to the internal thread being 12mm and the receiving thread in the tow post being 8mm. I tightened the pivot screws to stop it rattling.
