Crap programme content…but fantastic countryside/scenery/photography.
I quite enjoy it actually. It hasn’t been a car program for years, just three blokes larking about. But I like it for what it is.

Me too. Family all entertained for 1 hour, then straight into hawaii 5-0. Easily pleased in our house.
That’s the thing with Top Gear, its an Entertainment show not a Car Show I suppose. I’ve just watched back to back Fifth Gear then Top Gear. Fifth gear was good (ignoring Plutos bad review of the SC Elise) but Top Gear has me laughing out loud. That episode where Hammond is racing the Airport vehicles was just on Dave 
Yeah some of it’s silly, the bits where it’s more than obvious its scripted bugs me, but overall its a good entertaining watch

I had a 850R back in the mid 90’s and I can confirm suspension was rock hard and the P zeros where like rubber bands 
I think they only made 50 of the original run before they re-instated it later with a more exec friendly Turbo.

Quite simply, Top Gear is a comedy show. That’s all. It certainly isn’t a motoring show. If, for any reason it isn’t funny - like a couple of weeks ago - it is a waste of an hour.
The Africa thing was good fun with lots of contrived japes to keep us amused and some stunning scenery. It was a decent enough travelogue as well as amusing and involved some motoring.
I too, would love to make a similar trip. No wonder they seemed to enjoy it so much.
But, please NEVER take Top Gear seriously, even when it is trying to be so.
