Thanks, chaps, for all your good wishes.
I didn’t get a birthday hat but I did get a Victor Meldrew mask which everyone says suits my personality down to the ground!
Today I opened a package carrying my Con . . .but not forgotten shirt. My family were touched and much impressed by the efforts of everyone one here to mark his passing.
And it reminded me that I should not be such a miserable bugger and live life to the full like our dear departed friend.
