Good man…
You’ve kept the roof on!
Good man…
You’ve kept the roof on!
Well only because there’s not much reason to actually remove it. I’ve got to pull some bits off it (like the boot hinge) but I don’t think I’ll gain anything by taking it off.
Got the front suspension all off today, rear suspension and steering rack tomorrow probably. Then next weekend will be splitting balljoints and wheelbearings etc and preparing everything for beadblasting/electroplating… fun times ahead
Good news is that apart from the cosmetic ugliness on the floorpans which I’ll probably be able to clean up pretty well given some elbow grease, the rest of the chassis is just dirty, not corroded so some more elbow grease and a light AutoSol rubdown should see it all clean as a whistle
Dear lord what have I done?!?!?
Well, in the first shot, it looks like you’ve tried to put the clams on the wrong end…

Well I did use the other clam to make that racing car bed I wanted so badly when I was a 6 year old

Got all the suspension off today, will take most of it into work tomorrow and use the presses to remove the balljoints ect and break it all down a little further… once that’s all done then I can get everything ready to send out for media blasting and replating… will be good because so far all the work has been destructive… will be nice to see some forward progress.
LOL, now THAT’s what I’d like to see IKEA selling!
Just to save re-posting it here and clogging up the forum… here’s a link to my thread on SELOC (assuming you’re all on that forum too) which pretty much ctalogues all the work going on on miss 126 at the moment
She’s finally making progress after a winter of delays thus far… starting to make constructive progress rather than just making a bigger pile of bits
Enjoy: SELOC Forums
Well, it’s been a fair old while since I updated this. Over 15 months since I started tearing her down and she’s still not looking much like an Exige!!
The progress that’s occurred though has been MAJOR and this really will be like (or better than) a new S1 when finished!
My apologies for all my previous photos falling over, I’ve since changed image hosts… some highlights are shown below.

Hehe cheers
And I think SEXIGE will be safe… there’s SO many personalised plates with “SEX” or “SEXY” or something similar in them.
It also helps that I do contract work for the company that produces the plates in NZ (and some parts of Oz)… so I’ve friends in the right places
ENGINE’S IN!!!
Nice work !!!
c’mon mate - even lotus developed the eixge quicker than this!!
Right, so after 3.5 years, one false start and a buttload of money and heartache, the car’s back on the road and track. It’s still being run in so I’m unable to play with all the power just yet but it’s looking good!
And a little video of me doing some gentle run-in stuff on track:

Oh, and on the same day I had a bit of fun taking my father’s E-Type Jag our for a play:

Looks fab, George
Have a run down to Queenstown & say hello to my daughter!
Yeah, looks great. The white lettering on the tyres, really sets it off.
Looks great!
About 3000 if you can get a deal on them. I think in the UK they’re 2800+VAT.
