Well, I finally broke and defected to a new marque. I guess I am softening with old age as I never wanted to buy this particular brand of cars, but it will certainly be more comfortable for longer journeys. However, the situation came up (interest rate on saving accounts is abysmal) and the right car came up, so I bought this…
Car is in with a specialist garage having a few minor bits sorted, so hopefully I should be able to pick it up next week.
Oh yes, my S2 Exige…I said it was a keeper when I bought it in 2006, and I am happy to say it’'s still a keeper The Exige is kept nice and dry in the garage, but it will still come out to play when I fancy some topless action! One day, I may even put the hardtop back on!!
Right, I just need to plan some Euro trip for a blast with my new car.
Not THAT old…yet! However, the car does have a cupholder!
I saw the car for the first time today, and the condition far exceeded my expectation. The inspector who checked over the car said it was in a great nick, but I think he was playing it down imo. I did the required paperwork, plugged in the satnav and drove it home this afternoon. My drive home was almost all motorways, but my first impressions are very positive. The steering feedback is very good, not Exige like, but I am very impressed. The gem is the engine which has masses of torque!! It’s is scarily rapid at the top end, and the car turned sharply and eased around the few roundabouts without any understeer (previous invoice did show it was recently geo’d by a specialist which may have helped). Overall, this new toy should keep me amused for a while, but my number 1 car remain my Exige. Yes, the Exige is slower, a little sparse and cramped, but it gives me that extra special feeling when i drive it unlike any other cars
