Throttle Return Spring - is this right?

Just took some photos of the setup under the dash and was surprised to see the arrangement for anchoring the return spring. Can’t believe that this is correctlooks like a bodge with a spare piece of wire wrapped around the cable pull for the front bonnet.

Anyone got a photo to share of what there setup looks like?

Cant remember is that is how the standard S1 set-up is. It certainly isn’t like that with the S2 set-up.

thanks - another reason to change - it might have done the job for the last 10 years but it looks pants and as an engineering solution is far from elegant.

No, I think that’s wrong!

The return spring is usually much longer and spans all the way to that empty hole in the picture - just above the release handle. That way it’s also pulling in the correct direction, not slightly off to one side.

Looks like Lotus did some mods on the production line when they ran out of the correct springs then!
