Thanks Matt
How does the bracket compare with what Yvos done ?
The trottle cable bracket snapped on my s2 exige !!
The cable had been getting a little harder to operate, then all of a sudden the bracket that attaches to the pedal snapped.
I had to wrap the spring around the pedal so that i could limp home and get it sorted.

OK. So the gearsticks snap, the throttle pedal bracket snaps, - anyone had the steering wheel come off in their hands yet?!!!
Steve
They’ve sorted the throttle cable problem now - “fly by wire” for 2006 models.
I think I’d rather have a cable, at least there’s a good chance of bodging it in the case of an emergency, whereas…

Yes IDG had this at a Walshy day at North Weald

With all this talk of the throttle cable I worked on mine this weekend and got it to work like a dream!, and that is on the std cable!
I quoted your post because that bracket in my S1 is made of steel, but instead of a bolt holding it to the pedal there used to be an alloy rivet.
The throttle operation had become increasingly vague and it was no surprise to find the bracket just moving around, not held properly to the throttle.
It now has a proper bolt and everything is tigh and newly greased.
A world of difference! everybody should bend over and check its hidden bits!

there’s a long thread on SELOC (which is where the photos come from) and I think a modification is required…
at least everyone should tighten the nyloc to stop the bell crank thingy rocking on the pivot - you know what I mean

Thats not very reassuring
The mod is working very well so far, operation is very smooth, I’ll have a look to make sure the brackets all secure once I’ve put a few more miles on
thanks for the kind responces - very friendly
Just phoned B&C for an updated price on this…
Now over 150 plus vat for the parts as listed by the OP!!!
Not for me I’m afraid!
Kurt
wow, that is what I call inflation.
Might be worth just buying the cable and I am sure you could make the other bits required Kurt, or source elsewhere bits like the ball end??
Hi Sean,
Well the cable was over 70…its just astonishing! I wish I’d invested in those and the window weather channels about 6 years ago, I’d be a wealthy man now!
I’ll manage with my current set up I’m sure.
Cheers,
Kurt
I am trying to lube my cable first before shelling out £170 for all the parts above, finger cross hope it works!
Do you have to move the bonnet release cable?
Moving the bonnet release makes it easier on your knuckles when pulling the bonnet release.
Have a couple of the pedal brackets here if anyone needs one, for less than Lotus sell them for.
I’m tempted JDS…
