Been there… It is probably best to take the whole lot off and give it a good clean mate! I found my IACV was so gummed up, the TB cleaner actually made that worse! So yes, all hoses off too! Access is easy if you remove the boot divider, only 4 bolts!
well…does it need it?
Who knows. I bought the car new in 2008 only 12k on the clock but I have never cleaned the throttle body so my thinking was what harm can it do.
May cause my self grief by loosening up crap that other wise is doing no real harm. Not really keen on just squirting solvent in to the throttle body and not being able to see what is going on. Think I’d much rather take it to bits and clean it the old fashioned way. If it needs it at all??
What do those who know better think?
cos the pd engine was notorious for clogging the EGR with soot …
I kinda figured that it may have left an imprint due to you wanting to clean your S2 inlet !
Did mine once and the aperture was about 80% clogged…never vented the crankcase back through the engine again !!
230k on mine ,then the head gasket went!
Got a little Yaris diesel now … don’t laugh , handles sublime ,like a go kart … very light and nimble ,surprises some expensive stuff at roundabouts
Enjoying tweaking geometry settings and pressures at the mo …
I leave work at around 3 am and have some deserted and fast roundabouts on the way home
