Thread lock?

What type of thread lock should I use to hold in the wheel studs, when I carry out the conversion?

I’ve not used thread lock on mine (wheel studs) but I’ve used it in most other places. I’ve never had a problem with them coming loose. Reason I haven’t used it is that they should be torqued, and if the thread lock is too grippy, I’ll struggle to get the lock nut/stud off and I don’t want the studs to snap.

Plus it can be messy stuff on things that come apart a lot.

Do others thread lock wheel studs? (Mine is a Honda and it does vibrate a fair bit)

I don’t really plan to take them out again so thread lock seemed the best option, I was going to buy a torque wrench as mine doesn’t go low enough for these.

Blue, as red would be too extreme IMO

I recently fitted some studs which came with a tiny tube of green stuff, it ran out after 3 studs and i only had red in the garage so i finished them with this. I cant see a reason why i will be taking them out again but you never know.

So the blue or possibly red loctite stuff, and torque correctly

Loctite’s version of Pritstick… Good stuff!

The sector 111 studs came with red stuff. Torque was 30Nm if I recall but the hex size was odd (5.5mm I think)

Sector 111 stopped inc the thread lock for some reason? The hex in the end is imperial!!! why? I dont know, its just the American way…

7/32 !

Well that tells me the size of 3/8 Allen key socket I need to buy

Ade which set have you bought?. i had the set from dave which i think are the Sector111 ones, and they were 5 mm Alan bolts with 3 token imperial ones for good measure. I don’t have imperial Alan keys so just used the two nuts tightened against each other on the stud method to get them in and guessed the torque value.

Why didn’t I think of that!!
